Natural Factors Lactase Enzyme helps relieve the uncomfortable symptoms of lactose intolerance and aids in the digestion of dairy products. Lactose intolerance is the inability to digest lactose (milk sugar) caused by the lack of lactase, the enzyme responsible for breaking down lactose in the digestive tract. Lactase Enzyme converts lactose into an easily digestible form by replacing the body’s missing enzyme, thereby effectively relieving the uncomfortable symptoms of diarrhea, gas, and bloating that result from lactose intolerance.

Medicinal Ingredients
Each capsule contains:
Lactase (Aspergillus oryzae) (whole) 250 mg (9000 FCC ALU*)
*FCC: Food Chemical Codex, ALU: Acid Lactase Unit

Non-medicinal Ingredients
Gelatin capsule (gelatin, purified water), microcrystalline cellulose, vegetable grade magnesium stearate (lubricant).

Dosage
Recommended adult dose: Take 1–2 capsules, 1 to 3 times daily just before consuming any food containing lactose or as directed by a health care practitioner. Lactase Enzyme must be taken each time you consume a lactose-containing food, as the enzyme will only work on the food just consumed. Lactase Enzyme has no lasting effect beyond the meal with which it is taken. Depending on the amount of lactose in the food you eat, or for severe lactose intolerance, you may need to adjust the dosage to 2 capsules, but no more than 2. For prolonged use, consult a health care practitioner.

Caution
Consult a health care practitioner prior to use if you have diabetes or if symptoms persist or worsen. Headaches, heartburn, bloating, and hypersensitivity (e.g., allergy) have been known to occur, in which case discontinue use. Keep out of the reach of children.
